Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information LocalBhaiya.in collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your personal data.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

1. Who We Are

LocalBhaiya.in ("LocalBhaiya", "we", "us", or "our") operates a free local marketplace that connects Customers with independent local Workers. This Privacy Policy describes our practices in relation to personal information collected through the Platform.

We comply with applicable Indian data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and its rules, as well as other applicable laws.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — name, mobile number, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), and account preferences.
  • Profile information — for Workers: skills, work experience, service area, profile photo, and any other details you choose to add. For Customers: any details you add to your profile.
  • Requirement and job information — job postings, offers, availability, and other content you post or respond to on the Platform.
  • Location information — your town, city, or area, which you provide when you register or search. Precise device location is only accessed with your permission, where a feature requires it.
  • Communications — messages exchanged through the Platform, and records of your communications with our support team.
  • Usage and device information — pages visited, search queries, device type, browser, IP address, and similar technical information collected through cookies and analytics.
  • Payment information — if and when payment features are introduced, we will collect only what is needed to process transactions through licensed payment providers, and we will not store full card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and profile;
  • To operate the marketplace: showing relevant workers, requirements, and offers to the right people in your area;
  • To enable direct communication between Customers and Workers;
  • To keep the Platform safe: detecting fraud, prohibited conduct, and content that violates our Child Safety Standards or other policies;
  • To provide support and respond to your requests and reports;
  • To improve the Platform through analytics and product development;
  • To comply with legal obligations and cooperate with law enforcement where required by law.

Where required by law, we rely on your consent as the basis for processing your personal information, and you may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us or adjusting your device/app settings.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • With other users of the Platform — the minimum needed for the marketplace to work: e.g., your requirement is shown to Workers, and a Worker's profile details are shown to Customers. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information in postings and messages.
  • With service providers — trusted vendors who help us run the Platform (hosting, analytics, communications, security), bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • With authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information, including reporting suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation to organisations such as NCMEC and law enforcement.
  • In business transactions — if LocalBhaiya is merged, sold, or reorganised, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to these same protections.

5. Location Data

Your town, city, or area is used to show you nearby workers and nearby work opportunities. This is the essence of the local marketplace. We do not track your precise real-time location. If we ever introduce a feature that needs precise location, we will ask for your permission first, and you can revoke it at any time from your device settings.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how the Platform works for you.

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. When you request account deletion, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are legally required to retain specific records (for example, to comply with law enforcement requests or to protect the safety of others).

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, and misuse. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for people who are 18 years of age or older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it. Our commitments on child safety are published in our Child Safety Standards.

10. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Complain to a relevant authority if you believe your rights are not respected.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

11. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the designated Grievance Officer is:

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notifying registered users. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
